Diving Locations in Oman - The best in Middle East
Daymaniyat Islands
Global Scuba specialises in diving at The Daymaniyat Islands a nature reserve under the protection of the Oman Ministry of Environment. The diving here is the best in the Middle East and the variety of sea life is considered by many divers to be richer than that found in the Red Sea with turtles, rays, morays, leopard shark, regular visitors.
Fahal Island
In addition to the tug boat wreck, an abundance of coral and the opportunity to see black tip and lemon shark make this a very popular diving destination.
Bandar Khairan
After exploring Al Munassir wreck, rock falls walls and reefs offer delightful diving .
Diving Experience in Oman
With more than 350 varieties of coral Oman can offer equally rewarding diving experiences as any of the other main destinations. The warmth of the water makes for comfortable diving with sea temperatures similar or higher than those found in the Caribbean, Maldives, Malaysia etc. Oman is still an undiscovered diving paradise, and particularly at the Dimaniyat Islands there are rarely more than two or three diving boats to be seen. As such there is more opportunity to enjoy the sea life – the turtles, leopard shark, eagle rays and sting rays are constant companions without the crowds of divers found at the more popular destinations such as Sharm el Sheikh and Hurghada.
Facilities
All necessary diving equipment is available for rent as very reasonable prices. Snorkellers are also welcome, and with the vast variety of sea life and coral close to the surface snorkelling is a particularly rewarding experience.
Other sea activities such as dolphin watching can be arranged.
For the non divers in the family the Civil Aviation Club offers excellent beach facilities with beach huts, and a very nice economical restaurant and all other facilities.
